For Granted

Realize that life is the best thing ever, and that you have no business taking it for granted
-Anna Quindlen
Every once in a while I get in a rut where I just mope around and am down and depressed for a few days. I just had that last week for not really any good reason. Reading this quote really made me take a look at myself and realize, I don't have anything to mope about. I have a beautiful family who are all healthy and happy. I have a wonderful job. I have friends who support me. I really don't have anything to complain about.
Sometimes I just take my life for granted. And as the quote says, I really have no business doing that.

California - here we come!

Well- Mike has finally made his job decision after the last few months of interviews and job offers and has accepted an offer from Cisco in San Jose, California. In a way it is a relief to have the decision made and to know what is in store for the future of our family. But we are both very sad to have to leave Utah where so much of our friends and family live. Change is always hard, but good. I'm excited for Mike and his future career. I'm excited for me to not have to work nights and feel like a zombie half of the time.
Mike will graduate at the end of April and start work in June. So we'll probably say good-bye to Utah in May. I already know that I will miss everyone terribly- and if you don't stay in touch with me I will be soooo sad.
But as for now..... I am simply focusing on the good things- palm trees, the beach and the ocean.

Family Love

We took a few minutes while out at Christmas to get some family pictures. I love this one of Mike and I.

Here I am with my two older brothers, Alan and Nathan. I have so many fun memories growing up with the two of them and every year I look forward to seeing them at Christmas and reminiscing about our childhood.

It was so much fun seeing Alan and Maline and their kids again. I've missed them all this past fall after spending summer in NYC with them.

This picture is hilarious!! Every year we re-enact the nativity story on Christmas Eve and it seems like the costumes get sillier and sillier each year. This year Tyler didn't want to be Joseph. He wanted to be an angel with Grandma and of course, Makenzie wanted to join them too. Mike and I were wise men with Nathan and the rest were shepherds (except for David, the donkey). What a crazy bunch we are!!
